Nixa second at conference tourney (Tennis roundup)

BRANSON — Nixa finished as runner-up at the Central Ozark Conference Large Schools Division Tennis Tournament on Wednesday. The Cardinals were one-half point behind first-place Webb City.
The Eagles’ Devin McDowell was the No. 2 singles champ. Josh Doublin and Connor Burton were second at No. 5 and No. 6 singles. Charlie Fenwick and Brad Barnhardt, along with Doublin and Burton, were second at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
Liberators beat Branson
Bolivar downed Branson 6–3 on Thursday to improve its dual record to 12–3.
Alex Talley was a winner in singles and doubles play.
Neosho blanks Monett
Neosho shut out Monett 9–0 to up its dual record to 8–5.
The Wildcats’ Matt Garrity was an 8–0 No. 2 singles winner, as was Garrity and Bo Mahr at No. 1 doubles and Joey Cumming and Evan Clark at No. 2 doubles.

Bolivar takes COC Small Schools Division title (Tennis roundup)

Bolivar captured the Central Ozark Conference Small Schools Division championship for the first time on Wednesday.
The Liberators totaled 21 points, while runner-up Springfield Catholic had 17 , third-place Rogersville had 15 and fourth-place Reeds Spring had one.
Trevor Sparks, Eli Samek and Aric Gooch all won singles championships for Bolivar. Auggie Newberry, Kyle Shoemaker and Kyle Bolton each took second. In doubles, Bolton/Gooch claimed a first and and Shoemaker/Samek took a second.
On Tuesday, Bolivar edged Springfiedl Greenwood 5–4.
Kyle Bolton won his singles match 9–8 (7−2).
Bolivar improved to 11–3.

Nixa, Neosho tumble (Tennis roundup)

Nixa fell to Springfield Glendale 7–2, while Neosho lost 7–2 to Thomas Jefferson on Monday.
The Eagles’ Brad Barnhardt was an 8–1 singles winner and Josh Doublin and Charlie Fenwick teamed for an 8–5 doubles victory.
Neosho’s Evan Clark was an 8–1 singles winner and Jeremiah Jennings was an 8–2 singles winners.

The Eagles swept doubles play, winning by an 8–0 count in each match. Josh Doublin, Charlie Fenwick, Blake McDowell and Brad Barnhardt all won in singles and doubles.
The Eagles shut out Monett 9–0 on Wednesday. They lost only five games in singles play.
Neosho falls to Ozark
At Ozark on Thursday, Neosho dropped a 7–2 decision to the Tigers.
The Wildcats’ Matt Garrity won 8–1 at No. 2 singles and teamed with Bo Mahr for a 9–7 win at No. 1 doubles. Neosho fell to 5–2 overall and 2–2 in the Central Ozark Conference Large Schools Division.

NEOSHO — Matt Garrity and Mike Kramer won in both singles and doubles play to power Neosho past Carthage 5–4 in Central Ozark Conference Large Schools Division action on Monday.
Garrity won at No. 2 singles over Tim Daniels 8–4 and teamed with Bo Mahr for an 8–5 win at No. 1 doubles over Jordan Ward and Ryne Coughlin. Kramer prevailed 8–6 over Reggie Lashley at No. 4 singles and combined with Jeremiah Jennings for an 8–3 win at No. 3 doubles.
On Tuesday, the Wildcats downed Branson 7–2.
Mahr, Garrity, Joey Cumming and Evan Clark were singles and doubles winners.
Neosho improved to 7–2 overall and 4–2 in the COC Large Schools Division.
Nixa whips Hillcrest
On Monday, Nixa picked up an 8–1 win over Springfield Hillcrest.
Brad Barnhardt and Josh Doublin were both 8–0 singles winners. Devin McDowell won a 7–4 tiebreaker at No. 2 singles. The Eagles swept doubles play, winning 8–2 in all three matches.
On Tuesday, Nixa shut out Reeds Spring 9–0.
Doublin and McDowell won their singles matches by an 8–0 count. Doublin teamed with Charlie Fenwick to win 8–0 at No. 2 doubles.
The Eagles lost only 13 games.
Liberators win fifth in a row
Bolivar ran its winning streak to five by beating Clinton 7–2. The Liberators improved to 8–2.
Trevor Sparks, Kyle Shoemaker and Eli Samek won in both singles and doubles.
Sparks and Auggie Newberry are 10–2 at No. 1 doubles. Samek and Shoemaker are 8–2 at No. 2 doubles.
